Easy to use, less strain on your hands.
The look of your soldering will improve with burnished, flattened foil. Also less chance of the project coming apart as your working on it.
I used wood burnishers like popsicle sticks for years.
I hold the foil centered to the glass edge, then fold both sides along the whole piece with my fingers.
Then roll while the glass is sitting on the table. I rarely use the crimp handle, but I know some people like that feature.
